No app. Just the pass.

TritonPass is a card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The balance on the front updates itself; the offers are on the back.

A card, not an app

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet hold more than bank cards. Boarding passes, cinema tickets and loyalty cards live there too, as passes: small signed files that show a few fields on the front, more on the back, and a barcode. They take no space on your home screen, need no updates from an app store and open from the lock screen.

How a pass stays up to date

When you add a pass, your phone remembers the address of the company that issued it. When something changes, such as your points balance, the issuer sends a silent signal to Apple or Google; your phone then fetches the new version of the card and, if a field marked for alerts changed, shows a notification. You can also pull down on the back of an Apple Wallet pass to refresh it by hand.

What TritonPass can see

Very little. A pass cannot read your other cards, your location, your contacts or anything else on the phone. We know your email address, the offers you open through the pass, and an anonymous device identifier that lets us send updates. You can delete the pass at any time; your points stay on your account and you can add the pass again.
